The 2023 Downtown Steubenville Farmers’ Market is growing exponentially this season, not only with the number of vendors but also the variety of products, and the volume of customers.
New vendors with products which have never been offered at the market before have signed up this year expanding the types of items available, including a vendor with a special and tasty 3 pepper sauce and one selling micro-greens. Also added are two new baked good vendors bringing the number to four, offering cookies, cakes, pies, pizzelles, baklava, fudge, zucchini bread, banana bread, pan breads, etc
Also available are jams, jellies, apple butter, pickles, and a variety of home-canned veggies.
And of course, there are the long-standing produce vendors who have been selling at the market for years with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. They have an impressive following of customers who have learned that they can count on quality of product and a reasonable price.
This year there is also a food vendor selling freshly made breakfast sandwiches, coffee, donuts and other food.
In addition to all the great food at the market, there are two non-profit service agencies supplying information and free handouts.
There has been such a demand for space at the market and increase in customers, that we will be expanding the market’s area to accommodate vendors who are currently on a waiting list. Hopefully, this will be accomplished within the next couple of weeks.
