The Jefferson County Historical Association had its beginning in 1973 when a group of citizens met with the intent of forming an organization to, “preserve, protect and promote the historical documents and records of Jefferson County.”

In 1973 the organizations purchased the Sharpe Mansion and converted it into a museum and genealogical library.  The museum contains 19 rooms which exhibit period furniture and artifacts preserving the memories of days long gone by, including a room dedicated to Steubenville native, Dean Martin.

OPEN: WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY from 10:00am to 3:00pm or by appointment.
