Catfish in Steubenville

Giant Nutcrackers at Christmas, huge Colored Eggs at Easter, and now 5’ tall Catfish for summer have been added to the displays of oversized art objects in Steubenville.

A project of the Steubenville Cultural Trust, every Catfish is uniquely painted by a different local artist and can be found along downtown sidewalks for the months of July & August. Each Catfish has a theme and is a perfect backdrop for selfies.

Why catfish? Steubenville is a river city and catfish inhabit the nearby Ohio River. The Catfish Crawl Art Walk is designed to bring more people to the historic downtown of Steubenville where local shops and eateries welcome visitors.

Stop by the Visitor Center to pick up a map to help find these fine finny friends before the season ends!
