And if you don’t care for the performers, you can just sit and visit with friends.

This season marks the tenth anniversary with a lineup of many popular, familiar groups as well as some not so familiar ones, commemorative T-Shirts and more.  Also new this year are vendor booths with a variety of items for sale which will open at 4:00 p.m. and remain open during the concert.

The 2016 concerts will kick-off Thursday, May 26th, at 6:30p.m. with  the talented local performers of Three’s Company opening for the classic oldies of the world famous Vogues.

Historic Fort Steuben is grateful to the many sponsors who make these free concerts possible and encourage their audience to patronize the businesses and thank the organizations listed in the program.  The concerts are just one indication that Historic Fort Steuben has become an important contributor to the quality of life in Steubenville and the upper Ohio Valley. Please consider becoming a member and helping them to continue offering music, history and educational programming for the next ten years!

The concerts will be held every Thursday evening at 6:30p.m. from May 26th through August 4th at the Louis Berkman Amphitheater located in Fort Steuben Park, 120 S. Third Street, Steubenville.   (Weather permitting)

As always, there is no admission charge for the concerts, however, buckets will be passed for free will donations.

Concert Programs will be handed out at the concerts and are also available at the Fort Steuben Visitor Center.

Historic Fort Steuben Opening

The weather has been cooperating and many people have been stopping in wishing to take a tour, so Historic Fort Steuben will be opening on April 25th, a week earlier than scheduled.

Take a self-guided tour or tour the Fort with a trained Interpreter who will provide you with facts as well as human interest stories about the Fort and the time period.

The historic fort originally was built in 1786-1787 by the 1st American Regiment to protect government surveyors from hostile Indians as they laid out the first seven ranges of the Northwest Territory.  The fort was named after George Washington’s great drillmaster, Baron von Steuben.

The seven buildings with exhibits and interpretive signage include the Officers’ quarters, the Commissary, the Quartermaster, the Blacksmith, the Hospital, the Frontier Camp and the Enlisted Men’s Quarters.

In addition to the reconstructed fort, visit the Fort Visitor Center’s Exhibit Hall and Museum Shop, which offers a variety of books, toys, replicas, artwork, and gift items to purchase.   Also located on the Fort Steuben Park grounds is the Veterans Memorial Fountain and the Louis Berkman Amphitheater, where free Thursday evening concerts are held during the summer.

Hours are the same as last year, Monday thru Saturday from 10:00am until 4:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am until 4:00pm.
