Join in to honor a strong, kind, and brave woman who always poured herself into the community. Suzanne was a member of the Eastern Gateway Community College Foundation Board of Directors and co-chairman of the Fifty-by-Fifty Campaign for the college; a member of the Trinity Health System Foundation Board of Directors and the OSU Extension Advisory Committee. She served as the Executive Director of the United Way of Jefferson County for seven years and was inducted into the Jefferson Society Hall of Fame in 2013. Suzanne had been active with the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce for many years. She also served on the Chamber’s Public Speaker Series Committee. Suzanne had volunteered on the Jefferson County Public Investment Plan Advisory Group since 2008. She currently was serving on the Steubenville Nutcracker Village planning committee in a fundraising capacity. A true star in the community, her presence, passion, and giving heart is missed every day.
Event presented by Flora VerStraten-Merrin and Friends of Beatty Park. The 2nd Annual Walking Tour of Beatty Park will begin at the Caretaker area, near the entrance. The walk is approximately 90 minutes and includes staircases and a few slight inclines. Please wear appropriate layered clothing and outdoor sneakers or boots for hiking. Have you often wondered what some of the remnants are when you've walked or hiked in the park? Well, now is the time to find out, complete with historical yard sign size photos. John Boiliegh, from the ODNR will be their guest and will also have a display and presentation at the 2nd shelter house following the walk. DONATIONS are not required but appreciated and will be used for the restoration of Beatty Park.
