The event is free and open to the public and will include complimentary Latin-American food.
Entertainment will be provided by over a dozen high school and college members of the Mariachi Academy of New England, based in Connecticut. The group’s mission is to enhance appreciation of Spanish language, music, and Hispanic culture. They will perform traditional mariachi songs through voice, guitar, violin, trumpets, and other instruments.
There will also be a Spanish Rosary from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel the same day.
Sponsored by the Latinos for Christ student club, the celebration recognizes the cultural and religious importance of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the Franciscan University campus.
