“Dunkirk” presented by Franciscan University Film Society

The Franciscan University Film Society continues its virtual trek through the World Wars with a showing of Dunkirk on, Friday, February 28.

Dunkirk tells the story of Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, and France, who though surrounded by the German Army, are evacuated during a fierce battle at the start of World War II.

A panel discussion led by Dr. Robert Doyle, Franciscan University of Steubenville professor of history, will be held following the screening.

Admission is free.

Dunkirk is rated PG-13 for intense war violence and some language and has received an A-III rating from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

This showing is part of the Film Society’s “The World Wars” series for the spring semester. The screenings are co-sponsored by the Departments of Communication Arts and Fine Arts.
