Toronto Ghost Walk

August 10, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

There is an old saying, “If only these walls could talk, the stories they would tell.” This is not only true of buildings but also people. Join Historical Society members as they walk the streets of downtown Toronto and hear the stories of places and people from Toronto’s past. Do you know the story of the “Last Chance Saloon”; or wonder about the spirit of Suzanne Daniels that wanders through the Daniel’s Building; and where was the Sawdust Academy located and who was it’s teacher? There are lots of stories about Cocky John, Barney’s, the Opera House, George Manos, Noonan’s and Youth Harbor to name a few of the stops.
The Historical Society of Toronto, Ohio will sponsor two tours each evening of Wednesday, August 10th and 17th.
The first tour starts at 7 pm and the second tour at 7:30. Each is about an hour and a half long.
Admission for the tours is $10 per person and all tours start and end at the Gazebo commons.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance at the Main Street Museum (Sundays and Wednesdays), the THS Alumni office at 102 N. Third Street, Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street or by contacting Carolyn Walker (740-537-2157/email fcwalker@sbcglobal.net) or Shirley Riggleman (740-537-4915).
A rain date of August 24th has been set aside.
All proceeds benefit the museum.
