Written by Nikolai Gogol and directed by Dr. Monica Anderson, this Russian satirical farce tells the story of a corrupt small town run by a greedy mayor and his comrades. The town panics at the news that a government inspector is on his way from the capital. Hilarity ensue when the townsfolk display their greed and stupidity by confusing a low-level official with the real inspector. ‘ The Government Inspector ‘ one of the most famous comedies in world theatre, is a comical critique of the pitfalls of all-too-common vices.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors. Admission is free for clergy, religious, and children under 12 years.

Performances will be held November 9, 10, 16 & 17 at 7:00pm and November 11 and 18 at 2:00pm in Anathan Theatre, on the round level of Egan Hall, Franciscan University.
